I am an experimental particle physicist whose research focuses on understanding the properties of the neutrino, one of the least-understood fundamental particles of nature, and searching for new fundamental particles produced by high intensity accelerators. I am an expert on the liquid argon time projection chamber (LArTPC) detector, which is the central technology being used in the long-baseline neutrino project DUNE (Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment) as well as the experiments comprising Fermilab’s Short-Baseline Neutrino (SBN) Program. I have a particular interest in developing novel methods for detecting scintillation light in LArTPC experiments as well as dedicated, cost-effective electronics for reading out the data. This is the current focus of my research on the SBN program’s Short-Baseline Near Detector.

In 2023, I was named an Oppenheimer Science and Energy Leadership Program Fellow in 2023 and elected as an APS Fellow in 2025. I currently serve as Fermilab’s DUNE Near Detector Group Leader and as Deputy Head of Fermilab’s AI Program.
